For our latest weekly social media round-up for the publishing world we've turned our attention to the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) 2011 conference, which is taking place between 14 & 16th September in Oxford.

The first full day line-up included speakers from the Universities of Cambridge, Salford & Sussex, along with representatives from Bloomsbury, SAGE and the National Environment Research Council. They included an intriguing speech about publication from the researcher's point of view from Jonathan Goodman, a reader in chemistry at Cambridge University, and a highly praised Powerpoint-free presentation from SAGE's Ziyad Marar.

We hope you enjoy the round-up. The conference continues on Friday 16th September, and you can see the debate unfolding yourself on Twitter by following the #alpsp11 hashtag.
