On Friday, EBSCO published the results of their recent "Library Collections and Budgeting Trends Survey." No great suprises here, but interesting to see some of the figures nonetheless. Some highlights:


  • 64% of ARL libraries reported budget decreases in 2009/2010

  • 85% of all respondents expect flat or decreased budgets in 2010/2011

  • Usage statistics/cost-per-use were reported as the most important metric in determining whether to keep or cancel a subscription
