The Frankfurt Book Fair is placing greater emphasis on technology and new media this year as part of its new "SPARKS" initiative, which will "launch projects, conferences, and events related to the future of media and storytelling." Up first are two new programs known as Frankfurt Hot Spots and Frankfurt StoryDrive. According to the Publisher's Weekly article, StoryDrive will focus on "other media and entertainment fields," while

the Hot Spots program, designed to offer publishing professionals greater insight into the process and possibilities in digital publishing, will touch on the following topics: publishing services, information management, devices, education, and literature & special interest.
