This year Frankfurt Book Fair will play host to the second in our series What is a Publisher Now? events, which brings a prestigious panel of publishing and technology leaders together to discuss the future of the industry in a post-digital age.
What is a Publisher Now will take place on the SPARKS stage, Hall 4.2 at Frankfurt Book Fair on 9th October 2013 at 10:45am.
The panel will be chaired by Book Industry Communication (BIC) executive director Karina Luke, who will be joined by a panel of spokespeople that includes: -
- George Lossius, CEO at Ingenta
- Dan Franklin, Digital Publisher at Random House Group UK
- Mark Anderson, President, Schools & Higher Education and Strategy & Business Development at Pearson International
- Dr Victor Henning, co-founder of Mendeley and VP Strategy at Elsevier,
The event will bring together the perspectives of trade, academic and education publishers with those of technology providers. What is a Publisher now? will explore how publishers can stay relevant in an age of dynamic content, where users pick and choose content across multiple platforms and formats, looking at whether publishers should become IT providers and, if not, how they should partner with technology companies to drive the publishing process most effectively. The panel will address the issue of working with flexibility in content and pricing mechanisms and the implications on rights and royalties, licensing, and author and reader expectations.
