Announcing IngentaConnect Complete
New service gives libraries a customised interface to IngentaConnect
Ingenta, the technology and services provider for the publishing and information industries, has today launched IngentaConnect Complete, a new service designed to provide libraries with a uniquely branded view on to the IngentaConnect research service. Complete enables administrators to offer their patrons access to an unparalleled collection of scholarly content through an environment which is clearly endorsed and administrated by their institution.
As on IngentaConnect, access to full text is available by subscription and pay-per-view, so users need never reach a frustrating dead end – but Complete administrators can also enable blocking and links out to both local and other web-based holdings, to avoid unnecessary ordering. Patrons benefit from discounts on e-document delivery, while library staff can control and segment their purchasing using the cost centre and capping features of IngentaConnect payment accounts. Holdings can be uploaded and OpenURL servers can be configured to enable links to content licensed or held elsewhere.
IngentaConnect Complete also includes a licence to Ingenta's InTouch current awareness services, whereby libraries can keep their patrons up to date with over 29,000 journals. Users can configure unlimited new issue and search alerts in a variety of delivery formats, including OpenURL links to ensure seamless access to research in a broad range of disciplines. IngentaConnect InTouch is also available as a standalone upgrade to the IngentaConnect and IngentaConnect Premium services.
Speaking of the new service, Amel Saghiri, Library and End User Services Manager for IngentaConnect, says: "IngentaConnect Complete gives libraries more ownership of their online journals; by integrating IngentaConnect with their OPAC they can take advantage of the comprehensive coverage of our collection whilst maximising usage – and therefore the value – of their own."
IngentaConnect Complete is an upgrade opportunity which will replace Ingenta's Customized Library Gateway, and completes the trio of IngentaConnect platform options for libraries. All existing Gateway customers will be automatically upgraded to the new service. Amongst other things, Complete adds holdings functionality (upload, identifiers, statements, blocking and browse-by) to those features available as part of IngentaConnect and IngentaConnect Premium, in order to provide a comprehensive suite of services to ensure institutions get the most out of both IngentaConnect and their own OPAC.
