Ingenta strengthens international reach with new publisher signings

Ingenta Inc., the technology and services provider for the publishing and information industries, today announced new business wins across the online publishing services division. The majority of new publisher customers are aiming to distribute their content globally online via IngentaConnect (www.ingentaconnect.com), increasing coverage to more than 8,000 electronic journal, book and monograph titles and over 28,500 fax- and Ariel-delivered publications.

In the US, Ingenta signed a major deal with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) in December, while Human Factors is moving to Ingenta from a competitive online service provider. The Water Environment Federation, the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals and the National Committee on Planned Giving also decided last month to put their journals online for the first time via IngentaConnect. Most recently, The International Oracle Users Group have also chosen Ingenta to create their first online presence. New European customers include CSF Medical Communications, DWP Information Centre and Warsaw’s Museum and Institute of Zoology. Whiting & Birch, Ramtrans Publishing, Sapiens and the Equine Veterinary Journal have also signed to add their titles to the IngentaConnect platform.

Commenting on the new signings, Patrick Cooke, Sales Director, said: “These past few months have seen a really positive uptake for our core online platform, IngentaConnect. We look forward to providing a good service to all kinds of other academic and professional publishers across our product portfolio in the New Year.”

Amel Abourachid, Library Business Manager, added: “This enables us to start 2005 with a positive demonstration of our commitment to providing a comprehensive service to libraries, and we look forward to providing yet more titles to our customers throughout the year.”

Ingenta continues to be the first choice for institutions, libraries and individual researchers to access electronic scholarly and professional content. More than 17,000 institutions worldwide are registered with Ingenta where over 2 million articles are delivered each month.
