Strengthened Ingenta draws key new clients
Publishing Technology merger drives ongoing success Ingenta, the technology provider that connects the publishing and information industries, recently announced a successful first quarter of 2007 with 5 new clients joining its IngentaConnect service and 11 existing clients adding additional publications to the system or signing up for new services.
IngentaConnect's new publisher partners include:
- Manchester University Press
The UK's third largest University Press chose IngentaConnect in order to offer cutting-edge features and content enhancement capabilities to subscribers of the Press' 14 journals. They selected the IngentabyDesign service, which will apply branding to seamlessly integrate IngentaConnect with the Press' own website.
- Acumen Publishing
- The Council For Learning Difficulties
- IIED – Participatory Learning and Action
- Jackson Publishing
- Research Information Ltd
Key client Maney Publishing is one of the 11 existing clients increasing its business with Ingenta for 2007. "As a medium-sized publisher, Ingenta's services are critical to our ability to grow our business, and we are delighted by the support and expertise they deliver to us," says Managing Director, Michael Gallico. "The service Ingenta delivers is outstanding, and the quality of support they provide to our customers enables us to focus on our core competences. They are responsive to our needs and suggestions and we benefit from their innovation, their willingness to engage with our ideas and from their critical mass which enables the cost of new developments to be spread across so many participating publishers. We look forward to benefitting further from their versatility for the foreseeable future."
Ingenta performed solidly in 2006 with 40 new publisher customers, and 42 existing clients signing new long-term contracts. This continued growth, combined with its February 2007 merger with VISTA International to form Publishing Technology plc, has strengthened its reputation in its core publisher and library markets. Flagship website IngentaConnect now provides 250 research publishers and societies with online publishing services including data conversion and enhancement, secure online hosting, access and authentication and content discoverability management. Over 20,000 libraries use the site to access full text via subscription and document delivery business models, and the site supports up to 20 million user sessions every month.
