Ingenta will be moderating a panel session at this year’s SSP Annual Conference titled, “Rethinking and Remixing Content.” moderated by our COO Michael Cairns and featuring a host of scholarly publishing experts. The Session will take place from 10:45 to 12:15 on Thursday June 6th  and will explore the challenges facing publishers attempting to move their businesses forward in the digital marketplace.  Highlighting the need to rethink and remix content, the panel of industry experts will discuss the numerous ways publishers can achieve effective monetization of content while raising key questions facing the industry. With examples from the experience of publishers, the session will cover a range of topics including, flexible ecommerce, community networks, SEO and the ability to provide the right content when, where and how users want it. Ingenta’s Michael Cairns will chair the discussion alongside: Allen Noren, O’Reilly media As VP Online at O’Reilly Media, Allen is in charge of, the company’s ecommerce, news, and marketing portal. With the company since 1992 he was a founding member of the GNN team that built one of the first commercial web portals, and was part of the group that created Safari Books Online, the O’Reilly ebook program.. Brian Erwin, Slicebooks A digital marketing pioneer, Brian is Special Advisor to Slicebooks.  For eight years he was Vice President, Sales & Marketing of O’Reilly Media where he created the world’s first commercial Web portal, launched the first desktop Web server, and organized of the first Open Source conference.  Prior to that, he founded the media office of the national Sierra Club and was a publishing executive for Harper/Collins and William Morrow. Catherine Flack, Cambridge University Press As Textbook Development Manager at Cambridge University Press, Catherine keeps on top of market changes while making the most of Cambridge's depth and breadth of content and the opportunities that fragmentation and enhancement of content brings to college publishing. Catherine's 20+ years in publishing includes seven years with Cambridge and Pearson, as well as consultancy work with UK and US textbook publishers. Michael Cairns, Ingenta, moderator As Chief Operating Officer of Ingenta’s Online Division, Michael is responsible for product development, implementation and client management for the pub2web hosting platform and ingentaconnect portal. Prior to joining Ingenta, Michael was a Managing Partner at Information Media Partners, helped to launch, spent time at Wolters Kluwer Heath Education, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and for seven years served as President of R.R.
