This was the week when Waterstone's broke cover to say it was developing an e-reader for the UK market, while the father of the ebook, Michael Hart, died at the age of 64. Over in the US Houghton Mifflin Harcourt ended its search for a new CEO by hiring an executive from technology giant Microsoft, and publishing trade news site, Futurebook, launched a survey soliciting industry insiders to provide their vision of the future of publishing.
