Charleston 2017: What’s Past is Prologue

Byron Russell attended the annual Charleston library conference and participated in the Vendor Day, accompanied by Ingenta’s sales, marketing and research arm PCG. This year we ran a highly successful semi-plenary on Open Access metrics. Our own session (Wide Open or Just Ajar? Turning PDFs into Dynamic Research and Teaching Resources for Library Patrons

This quarter Ingenta and Hypothesis announced the integration of open annotation technology right across the Ingenta Connect and upcoming Ingenta Open platforms. Open annotation is a powerful tool that enables users to engage deeply with publications of record, making private notes, public annotations, and private collaboration groups across any web-based content, including webpages, PDFs and EPUBs. Read more.


Accessibility on Ingenta Connect – the next stage

Ingenta has recently been audited for accessibility / degree to which we meet WCAG 2.0 standards, carried out independently by Leeds Beckett University (huge thanks to the team there led by Vicky Dobson, Senior Information Services Librarian) based on JISC recommendations. Unusually we’re taking the step of publishing this in full, accompanied by our intended steps to correct any flaws or hindrances. Read more.

We have just introduced Sabinet’s vast range of publications into Ingenta Connect. A tremendously important collection of journals relating to Africa, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to make the collection available to you and your patrons.
