Ingenta seminar on intellectual property at The London Book Fair

It’s 2020, Do You Know What Rights You Hold? Best Practices for Licensing, Tracking and Managing Your Intellectual Property

Scott Winner, (CEO of Ingenta) will be chairing an Insights Seminar at The London Book Fair on Tuesday 10th March at 11:30am in The Olympic room in the Grand Hall. Scott alongside a panel of experts will discuss intellectual property and the best practices for managing it. The London Book Fair 2020 takes place on 10th to 12th March in Olympia, London, UK and offers an excellent chance to learn how intellectual property best practices are evolving and the solutions which can help manage it. The book fair also provides a great opportunity to meet Ingenta and PCG on our stand 3C10.

As text, audio and video converge in new media, publishers face complex challenges to traditional rights models for their intellectual property. The conflict between publishers and Audible over speech-to-text is only the most recent in a series of cases that have pushed publishers to rethink their contracts, rights and royalties. This panel will explore best practices in emerging areas — including licensing single images, chapters and other permissions, and selling podcast rights alongside traditional audiobook rights – as well as strategies for quickly identifying new rights opportunities and markets not currently exploited. The participants will also discuss how to avoid violating the rights of other parties and to ensure that appropriate royalties are paid to all rights holders.
